This antique Chinese bowl which is a large size dates from the late Qing dynasty and has a white interior which is beautifully hand painted with blue lotus pattern decoration.
This 19th century Batavian Ware bowl has a brown glaze covering the exterior, top rim and base that is also known as Cafe Au Lait.
These Chinese export bowls were shipped to South East Asia where they were used for cooking and storage. This one looks wonderful on display and could be used as a punch bowl, serving bowl or would make a very nice fruit bowl.
Mid to Late Qing dynasty period, 19th century.
Dimensions: Diameter at top: 28 cm (11''). Diameter at base: 16.5 cm (6 1/2''). Height: 9 cm (3 1/2'').
Condition: Excellent antique condition with signs of use in keeping with age. No chips, cracks or repairs. Rings Nicely. The usual light crazing, firing marks, specs and light surface wear.
