Woodbridge Antiques has dated this Silver Cut Glass Caster to the 1960s.
The cut glass is boldly patterned with some depth of relief creating a firm surface to grip.

The silver top is bell shaped with a small finial, ribbed decoration and crisply pierced stars allowing the sugar to flow. It fastens securely with a screw fitting which works smoothly.
Hallmarked as sterling silver, London 1960 by Preece & Willicombe.

A lovely tactile vintage sifter which would make a sweet gift!
Condition: There are one or two slight nibbles to the cut glass and one small chip near the shoulder but these are not at all obvious. The silver is in super condition and overall vintage condition is really very good.
