Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

During the 1920s and 1930s, cufflinks transitioned from purely functional fasteners to prominent statements of personal style. The period saw a shift towards geometric shapes, vibrant vitreous enamelling, and precious metals, reflecting the influence of modern industrial design and architectural movements of the era.

High-grade gold, such as 14ct or 18ct, provided the foundational structure for formal accessories of this era. Vitreous enamel, made from powdered glass fused to metal under intense heat, was applied using traditional techniques such as champleve or engine-turned guilloche.

Authentic pieces typically feature period hallmarks or purity stamps indicating gold content, alongside characteristic geometric motifs. Construction methods of the 1930s often include hand-applied enamelling, engine-turned detailing, and double-sided or chain-link connections.

Vintage cufflinks complement contemporary double-cuff dress shirts for formal occasions and black-tie events. Selecting cufflink enamel colours that coordinate with a pocket square, tie, or wristwatch strap creates a cohesive outfit.

Enamel can crack under sudden temperature shifts or physical impact, so cufflinks should be wiped gently with a soft microfibre cloth. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners or ultrasonic baths, and store the items in a lined box to prevent scratching between wearings.
