His works have been sold at auction houses around the world & exhibited at the Walker Art Gallery Liverpool also in the Manchester Art Gallery & The Royal Academy. The highest sold price was for 6,650 US Dollars, for a work of his that sold at Christies. Spinks was primarily a landscape, he was recorded as living in London in 1880. he exhibited between 1880 and 1907. He moved to North Wales Betws-y-Coed in 1889.
