Set Of Six Solid Silver Scottish Arts And Crafts Coffee Spoons

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Prometheus Antiques

A fine and interesting set of six Scottish Arts and Crafts silver coffee spoons. The spoons are of a beautiful and individual design with planished bowls and finals that have an organic feel of foliage. The set are all in excellent condition with full hallmarks for Edinburgh 1943 and the maker Elizabeth Henry Kirkwood. Elizabeth Henry Kirkwood was a silversmith and enamellist that worked with her family business and also exhibited pieces at The Royal Academy, the Scottish Society of Women Artists and the Glasgow Society of Lady Artists, she continued submitting pieces for assay until 1965. These spoons represent a rare example of Elizabeth Kirkwood’s very individual work.
