An elegant and attractive George III sterling silver Pint mug with a lovely deep shine, a scroll handle and a low belly. The mug sits proudly on a large spreading foot for extra stability. It has the most beautiful deep cloudy shine that you get with silver from the Georgian period, and a silky feel to the touch. It has survived the centuries and it is still in an excellent condition.
It is fully hallmarked Sterling silver, London 1762.
The makers mark is of William & Robert Peaston
It is in an excellent condition being free from any damage, repairs or thin spots.
Good order inside.
The front is still thick but there a few spots that suggest a family crest may have been removed a couple of centuries ago.
It has just been professionally polished so it is free from any denting or deep scratching.
Sits steady and true.
