Finnigans Manchester, Liverpool & 18 New Bond Street W.
This vanity case is without a doubt one of the most original examples I have come across, it is near complete. It bears the initials M.J.H, and opens to reveal seven cut glass bottles of varying shape and size, all with matching silver gilt tops which bear hallmarks for London 1907, along with the Finnigans sponsor mark.
There is a beautifully made spirit flask amongst the bottles and in addition to these, a Morocco leather covered bevelled glass mirror with brass stand, a tool wallet containing a boot hook, nail file, tweezers, corkscrew and Scissors, a nicely made nail buffer with folding leather handle presented within its own case, hairbrush, clothes brush, comb within its own case, and a leather writing wallet with various compartments and blotting paper.
Condition: Overall, light wear commiserate with age. The silk interior is threadbare in places as seen in the images provided. The outer protective case is split on two sides as photographed.
The case comes with its original velvet lined canvas cover and also the original key.
Overall size case only: H16cm W26cm L35cm
