Description

Gents Smiths Imperial wrist watch, c1958.

The watch has a 19-jewel hand-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement has the rarer diamond tooled finish which we believe makes it the rarer calibre 0105, but is actually only stamped 01 with the remaining numbers missing.

The watch measures 35mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is gold plated. There is some rubbing, mainly to the lugs but it doesn’t show too much as the base metal is the same colour. The stainless steel case back states that the watch is waterproof but, as with any vintage watch, it should be kept away from water and moisture.

The lens is in good condition (some natural light reflection showing in the photos).

The signed dial is in its original finish with original hands and centre seconds hand with red pointer end.

A later leather strap has been fitted.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
