A late eighteenth century mezzotint engravings depicting the allegorical figure of Charity 1797.
 
Charity in a seated position wearing a flowing classical gown nursing a babe in arms with two other infants about her.
 
A monochrome engraving in an oval verre eglomise form with floral corner details, held within a period gilt gesso and wood decorated frame.
 
Partial printed title verso and hand written publication details:
 
Hope / London published Febraury 2nd 1797 by Haines and Son

There are some reflections in the glass, these are not faults.
