Antique French Brass & Leather Binoculars Signed L. Petit, Paris.

1900 - 1920
Sold by Puckerings
Description

A stunning pair of French made binoculars or field glasses dating to around 1900. Made from polished brass, they have been meticulously re-polished to gleam, which looks stunning paired with the cognac coloured leather.

They focus wonderfully and adjust to fit comfortably across the bride of the nose, there are also sun brass sun shades which pull out to reduce glare in bright light and sunshine.

The eyepieces are signed L. Petit, PARIS and the brass engraved with the magnification 4 1/2 x.

They come complete with a brown leather carrying case with the inside of the lid having a matching signature to the glasses. The leather would polish up magnificently if desired, the strap securing the case is broken, perhaps a replacement could be created at a shoe repairers; the have done a wonderful job in protecting the precious contents for the last 110 years.

Excellent condition measuring 4 7/8" wide x 4 7/8" tall extending to 5 1/2" while fully extended and the sun shades pulled out. The case measures 5 1/2" tall x 5 1/2" wide.

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
