Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1800s.
Green tea would be stored in one cannister and Black in the other, they would be blended to taste in the central cut crystal mixing bowl and transferred to the teapot for brewing.

The glass bowl in this example is totally original, which really is rare, they are usually later replacements and usually molded glass. This one is created from heavy crystal and a valuable piece of glass in it's own rights, hence why they are often missing as they are sold off or broken. The bowl is in excellent condition with one tiny rim chip mentioned purely for accuracy.

The exterior of the caddy has a really gorgeous nutty colour which comes from 200 years of living and only comes with aging.
A very heavy piece, but not to worry, our included worldwide shipping is still included; this piece will ship TNT in the UK and via FedEx elsewhere.

Excellent condition, measuring 14 1/2" wide foot to foot, 8" deep foot to foot and 8" tall. George IV in era, Regency in period c.1820.
