Great size mid 19th century French cherrywood “transitional” commode or chest of drawers with 4 drawers and column ends.
There is a concealed full width drawer in the frieze which is veneered in end grain which gives it a great look.
Very often these commodes are marble topped, so it is nice to come across an original wooden top, also banded with cherrywood to the edge.
Smart piece of furniture for a living room but also gives great storage if you are looking for a bedroom storage piece too.
Good condition and all drawers are running smoothly, lovely mellow glow with the beeswax finish.
