A Spode porcelain Image Handle Chocolate Cup, cover & stand c.1817-1819 in pattern 2573. Of slightly waisted form with gilt caryatid handles and butterfly finial, with a domed cover and ‘turned down’ rim stand, painted with bands of open pink roses and leaves among gilt leaves and branches, the mottled ground speckled in gilt.

Condition: One of the butterly wings has been broken and cleanly re-stuck back in place. Small hairline crack to the edge of the lid about 1 inch and shallow chip to the interior of the lid edge. A little wear to the gilding around the edge of the lid.
