A magnificent Barr, Flight & Barr Worcester Armorial Porcelain Soup Plate c.1807 – 1813. The central well, very finely executed, hand painted with the Warren family coat of arms with Warren impaling Mangles (a Dublin family). All reserved on a grey marbled ground, the rim decorated with a finely classical gilt bellflower border.
It seems very likely that the service would have been made to commemorate the marriage of Henry Warren and Susanna Mangles in 1808. Henry Warren came from St George''s Hanover Street. (Credit: Christopher Coles)
Printed and impressed Barr, Flight & Barr Worcester porcelain marks to the reverse.
Condition: Excellent
