Antique Japanese Wood & Champleve Cloisonne Kagamibuta Netsuke / Manju. Circa 1850 (possibly earlier). Japanese Edo Period.
 
A Masterpiece and early type Kagamibuta (Mirror Lid) Manju / Netsuke. Finely enamelled in early Japanese champleve enamel technique.
 
A dimunitive and finely enamelled manju of superb proportions. Decorated with flowers in turquoise, blues, greens and yellow. Very clever design, with decorative pattern also representative of Mount Fuji, slopes below, and clouds forming above. An extremely rare Masterpiece, made by a highly skilled artisan in the early era of mastering cloisonne techniques in Japan.
 
Material: Wood Bowl with Champleve Cloisonne Enamel on Metal Lid.
 
Condition: Excellent condition with some minor marks. Supplied with wooden box.
