Description

Pair of Victorian inlaid walnut pier cabinets

This Pair of Victorian inlaid walnut pier cabinets were made circa 1875.

The cabinets are a true pair, where the doors lock in opposite directions.

Each cabinet with a glazed panel door that open to allow access to the lined shelves.

The concave frieze with fine marquetry inlays and the well-cast gilt mounts to the stiles to each side of the door at the top, a marquetry panel below this mount and then a further filigree mount at the plinth.

The plinth with the applied cast gilt brass moulding with multiple joined anthemion’s around the base.

The doors have large sprays of marquetry on the shoulders
