A handsome George I period burr walnut veneered tallboy; the cavetto moulded cornice above three short and three long graduated drawers which are feather banded and have ovolo mouldings; having a pull-out brushing slide and three further graduated drawers below which are feather banded and have ovolo mouldings; with fluted canted corners to the upper and lower sections. Retaining its original fire gilded handles throughout and raised on the original bracket feet.

This chest on stand is of the finest quality: it is veneered in carefully chosen burr walnut and the sides are veneered in beautifully figured walnut, the drawer linings are in oak and the original fire gilded handles are beautifully cast in brass.
