In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the 1920s.
The rear of the seat is stamped with the maker's initials 'JS' below a crown which indicates it was probably made for Government or military supply.

It is approximately 30 1/2" (78cm) high and it is 24” (61cm) wide across the arms. The seat is approximately 17" (43cm) high and 18 1/2” (47cm) deep.
It is in good condition for its age and displays well. It has developed a lovely aged patina and is a strong and sturdy chair. The chair is not without a few small marks and signs of age but no major damages or anything detrimental. It has been cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
