Description

both kings stamped JAQUES LONDON, crosses sympathetically replaced, some restorations, felts presumably replaced, in a mahogany box with a central division and green Jaques label: JAQUES & SON, London (interior green felt replaced) (no key).

King: 10.1cm (4 inches) high.

Pawn: 5.6cm high.

Box: 21.5 cm wide, 16.6cm deep, 10.4cm high.

Reference: Alan Fersht, Jaques and British Chess Company Chess Sets, page 9 for a similar label dated 1890-95 (both kings stamped).
