Antique Early Metalware 18thc Handheld Peat Bellows Made From Brass & Mahogany. Irish C1770-90.

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Mark Seabrook Antiques

A fine set of late 18thc brass and mahogany handheld peat bellows with large iron ''drive'' wheel and brass handle...these are probably from Ireland and would have been used in the same way as we use our wooden and leather bellows, but instead of pumping the bellows, you aim the nozzle at the heart of the fire and turn the handle to produce a steady flow of air to get the fire going....in very good working order....

Irish . C1770-90.
