Antique 19th c. Kingwood Jardiniere with Sevres Plaque
The jardiniere veneered to the whole. The lid mounted with a finely hand painted bleu celeste Sevres porcelain plaque, the surround of ormolu. Two fine ormolu handles to the top. The top lifting to reveal the original (though suffering) lead lined planter.
Carried on four sweeping cabriole legs with ormolu mounts to the top running down to the sabots
Possibly by T.H.Filmers 32 Berners St Oxford St. as removed from the same property, and closely resembling, a Bonheur du Jour bearing their makers mark
Measures 63 x 42 x 77.5 (height) cm
Good condition; attractive colour and patina. Sound structural condition. Small loss of veneer to the moulded border at the back. Some wear and marks to finish along with areas where the colour has been faintly bleached. All mounts present and gilt colour good. The jardiniere with original lead inset. The inset with original handles though showing substantial wear with cracks to the seams as pictured.
