Opal & Diamond Cluster Ring Marked 18ct Size O

Gorgeous 18ct gold opal and diamond cluster ring. The opal has the most wonderful vivid colours, most noticeably the flashes of aqua and areas of deep orange with a lovely warm glow. The oval opal is claw set and encircled by a white gold setting studded with ten small diamonds with lovely sparkle. The rest of the band is in yellow gold, very prettily fashioned at the shoulders in a split design with scroll tips. The band narrows elegantly towards the base
 
 
 
A lovely antique ring which would make a very special gift. October birthstone.
 
 
 
Period: early twentieth century.
 
Hallmarks: marked as 18ct inside the band.
 
In great used condition. The opal does not have a highly polished surface
