Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1890s.
When English Strawberries are out of season, I use these to serve cakes, biscuits, cookies and chocolates with the milk or cream in the jug and sugar for the tea or coffee, a really usable and stunning table top serving piece for any occasion.
The stand sits on four handsome ball feet. The handle is beautifully decorated each side joining at the top with a cartouche which could be engraved if desired; the interior is lucky enough to have an engraved design registration number, 169924 which dates it to the year 1891.

The silversmith's initials are DWH, present on the underside of the dish.
Excellent condition, measuring 14" x 6 5/8" x 8" tall to top of handle.
