Antique Turkmen Jollar, Ersari Tribes, Turkmenistan, Central Asia.

The Jollar would have been made to decorate the bridal camel when the bride was riding to her wedding ceremony and afterwards, presented as part of her dowry to her future husband who would then use it to decorate the wedding yurt.
 
Made by Ersari Turkmen around 1900, this jollar woulkd make an attractive decoration draped over a chest in the home today.
