The top lid features a wonderful laurel leaf border on the edge, followed by engine-turning and a beautiful central medallion, adorned with a wreath of laurel leaves and bows in typical French style and grace. The entire side and circumference of the box feature further engine turning.The interior is also fully silver gilt which acts as a layer of protection from the contents inside oxidising/tarnishing the silver.Overall, a stunning piece of fine French 19th-century silver gilt ware, ideal for box collections or as a spectacular one-off accenting piece in a collection or interior setting.
