A striking early Spode bone china coffee can painted in pattern number 319 with black and red enamel and gilding. An unusual pattern with bold sprays of acanthus leaves and feathers with stylised trailing garlands, set between very delicately painted rose and foliate swags in an en grisaille style. Orate gilt accents to the handle and rims. Small gilt cross to the underside. c.1802.
It measures 6.3cm (2 1/2'') high and 6.3cm (2 1/2'') rim to rim.
In very good condition with no damage or repair. Some tight crazing and some spots of discolouration to the base only. Very minor handling wear. just some rubbing to the gilt on the rim.
