Rare 1936 Scottish Hallmarked Solid Silver Hip Flask Brook & Sons Edinburgh.
 
Hip flasks don''t get much better than this one.
 
Fill Edinburgh assay office hallmark with the date letter for 1936 and the makers mark for Book & Sons of George Street, Edinburgh. The flask is marked to the front of the body, the cup to the side edge.
 
The silver body and cup are decorated with engine turned detail, the body has a blank cartouche should you with to add initials.
 
Good size, it holds 9 fluid ounces or just under 1/2 pint.
 
It comes with a cork lined bayonet cap and removable cup.
 
Height 5 1/4 inches 13.4 cm
 
Width 3 5/8 inches 9.3 cm
 
Depth 1 inch 2.5 cm.
 
The condition is excellent and the flask is liquid tight with no leakage.
 
Surface marks where the cup fits and has been taken off and put on over the years but as you can see in the pictures it''s in excellent condition. No damage or repairs.
 
It''s been cleaned and the cork has been replace to ensure it''s as hygienic as possible to use.
 
A lovely usable piece that doesn''t appear to have been used much if at all.
