A fine example of a mahogany and red velvet lined Apothecary medicine chest dating from circa 1800 with lacquered brass inset handles. The upper part of the chest contains 12 bottles with paper descriptions , mostly original, whilst the lower drawer contains 13 bottles most of which also have paper labels. The lift out tray from the drawer has various items of interest, including brass and steel scales and weights, glass pestle and mortar etc.
