A Silver Mounted Glug-glug Glass Decanter, By William Comyns, 1905.

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: The Purply Shop

This silver neck green glug-glug glass decanter was made in London in 1905 by the renowned silversmith William Comyns. He traded from 1859 until 1930s, first in Soho and then on Beak Street. His products were retailed by Howell and James and Henry Lewis, and were most appreciated for their rococo revival and style. The silver mounted decanter presents four spout rims and, possibly, an associated clear glass, faceted stopper (there is a possibility that the decanter came with a green stopper instead of clear glass).

Condition:

The glass is in very good condition. Silver marks are legible and clear, with some surface scratching and wear, considerate with age. The stopper might be associated. The glass slightly wobbles when not filled. However, it sits perfectly straight.
