Late Victorian Aesthetic Movement Mahogany Occasional Table with Tiled Top & Under Tier
A good quality example of an Aesthetic Period occasional table, very much in the manner of E W Godwin and dating from around 1880-1900, generally in good condition with square top inset with green glazed tiles and framed with ripple-moulding, over arched bearers and tapering square legs united by openwork panels on two sides, comprising turned spindles and plain stretchers, the lower pair united by a shaped under tier, this exceptional piece will impress in the most elegant of homes, whether period-furnished or more contemporary in style, fully-deserving of the admiring attention it will surely attract.
Width c41cm x Depth c41cm (c16.25'' x c16.25'')
Height of Top c65cm (c25.5'') & Height of Under Tier 17.5cm (c7'')
This piece dates from around the latter years of the 19thC, so you may expect the mature character & patina of age, together with wear & tear commensurate with normal use, including some wear to the glazed surface of the tiles and a partial split to the top of one leg which is nevertheless secure and, in all other respects, it''s in good, clean & sound condition, ready to use in your home.
