Late Georgian 19th century period satin birch inlaid Library table.
The rectangular veneered top is crossbanded with an unusually wide band of tulipwood, Tunbridge ware inlay and brown ebony stringing. The figured satin birch frieze is fitted with two full length mahogany lined drawers, centralised and centred with an inlaid upright panel. The panel is skilfully inlaid depicting an urn and flowers. The drawer fronts are intricately decorated with Tunbridge ware style borders and flanked with protruding panels inlaid with burnished boxwood shells.
The concave tier is inlaid with a central shell motif and crossbanded with tulipwood and supported on four inlaid veneered legs. The inverted legs kick out at the bottom and terminate on the original gilt brass lions paw feet.
