Historic Victorian Malacca and hallmarked silver walking stick or cane.

The pommel to the top is silver, stamped with the London assay office mark and the date letter for 1881 and the makers mark for Frederick Brasted of London.

The silver mushroom pommel is engraved with the Emery Family crest on the top and the family coat of arms to the side along with the initials GICE. The family motto is ''Fidelis Et Suavis'' which means faithful and pleasant. This attribution is found in The Fairbairns book of family crests.

This is above the shaft which is Malacca which is a fibrous wood and is strong enough to support a good weight.

The ferrule is original and made of polished black buffalo horn.

It measures 87.3 cm 34 3/8 inches in length, the pommel is 3.2 cm 1 1/4 inches wide. A good size pommel which is comfortable to hold and lean on.

It''s in very good condition for it''s age but with some signs of age and use as you''d expect.

The silver surface marks and dinks as shown in the pictures but with no splits or holes as you can see.

Other than dinks in the silver there are no damaged areas or repairs to any part of the cane.

Perfect for an every day cane.
