Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Produced during the reign of King Edward VII between 1901 and 1910, Edwardian display cabinets frequently drew inspiration from 18th-century Sheraton and Hepplewhite designs. They feature light proportions, fine mahogany construction, delicate satinwood or boxwood inlay, and glazed doors for displaying glass and porcelain.

These cabinets usually feature solid or veneered mahogany frames, hand-shaped astragal glazing bars, boxwood stringing, brass keyhole escutcheons, and slender square tapered legs often connected by an undertier.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-finished joinery, age-appropriate wear to unpolished undersides, thin drawn glass panes, period-correct lock mechanisms, and smooth inlay work that lies flush with the surrounding wood grain.

Positioning the cabinet against a neutral or dark feature wall highlights the reddish tones of the mahogany. The interior shelves can hold a mixture of contemporary ceramics, books, and glassware alongside traditional decorative objects.

Position the piece away from direct sunlight and central heating sources to prevent wood movement and veneer lifting. Apply a quality beeswax polish along the grain once or twice a year, and clean the glass with a dry or lightly damp microfibre cloth.
