~ French - Circa 1900 ~~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~A large and superb cartel wall clock in the style of Louis XVI by Samuel Marti. It as formed as a round bronze body housing the movement suspended from an ormolu ribbon swag with a bow crest. The bronze body is decorated with a swag of flowers in ormolu and a motif of a quiver of arrows and a torch�.The large dial is porcelain enamel on copper with beautifully fretted and incised gilt brass hands.The French movement is of high quality and is by Samuel Marti. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell.
