A William and Mary Cabinet on Chest.

17th century
Description

A william and mary burr walnut enclosed cabinet on chest of superb quality. This piece consists of ten drawers, the lower section housing three large burr walnut drawers, the upper cupboard section opening to reveal seven figured walnut drawers comprising of five short over two long drawers. The cabinet has working cupboard lock and key with interior shoot bolts. The lower sections top and middle drawers are missing the original locks, an original is still present on the bottom drawer. There are some minor restorations and the brassware is later, but sits well against the back drop of the figured and burr veneers.

The cabinet has superb colour and patination and is in excellent condition.
