Pair Of Antique Late 19th Century Oak William & Mary Style High Back Side Chairs

An impressive pair of 19th Century William & Mary style oak side chairs with the heavily carved tall pierced backs over quality brocade upholstered seats, all raised on turned legs united by a decorative cross stretcher with central finial typical of this style.
 
Very good condition, structurally all sound with no movement and some attractive aged surface wear. The upholstery is generally in good order with a light aged stain outline to one seat as shown. The pierced backs have been lightly repaired and strengthened with a later brace supporting the ornate central carved splat backs which are now all solid and in good order.
