Description

This beautiful old Spindle-Bag is in excellent condition bar a small bite out of the bottom of the bag, as can be seen in the close-up image. Dating to around 1900, the colours are all natural - the orange colour derived from mordanted madder. Although mainly flatwoven, the bag consists of a knotted-pile border and charming tufts of woollen pile in the compartmentalised field.

Size: 41cm x 33cm (1' 4" x 1' 1").
