A delicate scene depicting a hare watching a covey of grouse titled “at Ptarmigan Hill in Winter”.
 
Signed and dated 1900 lower right.
 
We are not completely sure about the proportion of the mixed media pencil/watercolour used in this so realistic representation, heightened with touches of white/light blue body colour.
 
On pasteboard (see image), in its original oak frame.
 
Dimensions (including frame) 59cm x 45cm.
