Rare Derby Porcelain Figure Lady Dancing (gentleman Bag-piper Companion) C.1760-1770

An attractive and rare Derby porcelain figure of a lady dancing, holding a posy in her left hand with her arm gently swung across her body and lifting the hem of her skirt with her right hand. Wearing a floral painted skirt, white bodice fronted frilly pink top and cream and orange brimmed hat, she is stood and a scrolled base against a low floral bocage. Patch marks to the base, c.1760-1770.
 
Reference: Derby Porcelain Figures 1750-1848, An Illustrated Catalogue, Stuart Shepherd (Derby Derby Porcelain International Society) - this figure is the companion CTMD28 to the Gentleman Bag-Piper CTMD27, page 138, both classified as rare.
 
It measures 18.5cm (7 1/4'') high and 11.2cm (4 3/8'') by 8.2cm (3 1/4'') wide.
 
In excellent condition, a few small chips to her hat brim and feathers have been sensitively colour matched. Minor chips to the bocage and posy. No other damage, repair or restoration. There are a few fine craze lines in the paler areas. Very minor handling wear.
