A Superb 18 Drawer Victorian Collectors Cabinet in Honduras Mahogany. Circa 1870.

Description

A beautiful and very versatile, highly figured honduras mahogany 18 drawer collectors cabinet circa 1870.

This top quality cabinet is built with mahogany throughout and has 18 deep drawers, all with closely fitting glazed frame tops. Based on four bun feet.

Originally designed to accommodate a collection of british butterflies it will now serve a multitude of collecting pursuits.

For the entomologist the drawers will easily take full length continental pins, (1.5 inches cork to glass), and for those who collect other types of small item and wish to protect and display, it is ideal.

Original lock and key and shoot bolts to the left door.

I commend this cabinet for both practicality and aesthetic beauty.

Height. 25 inches.

Front to back. 16 inches.
