A Handsome Full Sized Victorian Cut Glass Decanter

A handsome full size Victorian decanter. This splendid and imposing example has a wide body and tapering neck, with three applied neck rings. There is extensive hobnail and starburst cutting in the Irish taste. The base has a polished pontil mark. The stopper is of mushroom form and the neck is flared and slice cut to the underside. A stunning and usable example. Dimensions below.

Condition :- The glass has no serious chips or cracks, it has some fleabites to the points of the hobnails in places, difficult to see in the cutting. There is a small 'slice' from the peg of the stopper, which may be the old removal of a chip, or simply the manufacture and a couple of nicks to the top. All commensurate with age and use.
