Vintage 0.62ct Ruby, 0.50ct Sapphire And 3.15ct Diamond, Platinum Owl Brooch Circa 1940

A stunning, fine and impressive vintage 0.62 carat ruby, 0.50 carat sapphire and 3.15 carat diamond, platinum heraldic owl brooch - boxed; part of our diverse collection of diamond brooches.
 
This fine and impressive vintage diamond brooch has been crafted in platinum.
 
The brooch has been modelled in the form of the owl, grasping in his claw a flag and surmounted a striped bar, all above a scrolling banner ornamented with the motto ''Per Fas''*.
 
The body, wings and head of the owl are embellished with eighty-one pavé set eight-cut diamonds.
 
The owl''s eye is represented by two impressive cabochon cut rubies.
 
The square flag is embellished with an impressive layered floral design, incorporating ten further eight-cut diamonds in addition to a cabochon cut ruby to the centre and mixed cuts to the outer circumference.
 
The owl is perched on a striped pale ornamented with three mixed cut sapphires, totalling 0.50ct, alternating with twelve pavé set diamonds.
 
The scrolling banner incorporates a motto comprised of collet set mixed cut rubies, in addition to forty-one eight-cut diamonds, completing the design.
 
The owl brooch secures to the reverse with a hinged pin and clasp fastening.
 
This stunning brooch has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as platinum.
 
This impressive brooch is supplied with an IDGL diamond and gemstone grading report card.
 
This stunning vintage brooch is fitted to the original hinged leatherette presentation box, with a satin and velvet lined interior, securing with a push fit catch.
 
The interior of the cover bears the retailer''s mark ''Fattorini & Sons Ltd, Diamond Merchants, Bradford'' and the anterior surface bears the initials ''J.W.'' and date ''24-1-41.''.
 
Such examples fitted to the original presentation box are becoming increasingly difficult to locate.
