Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Silver magnum wine bottle holders and coasters were designed to accommodate large wine or champagne bottles, serving to protect polished wooden dining tables from condensation and drips while facilitating stable pouring during formal meals.

Pieces from this period were predominantly crafted from sterling silver, utilising hand-pierced or fretwork lattice designs, cast side handles, and turned solid bases to provide structural support for heavy glass bottles.

Authenticity is verified by official British assay office marks stamped into the silver body, including the lion passant for sterling purity, a makers mark, an assay town mark, and a specific date letter denoting the year of manufacture.

A silver bottle holder is typically positioned on a dining table centre, sideboard top, or drinks trolley to serve as functional barware during entertaining while adding metallic texture to tabletop arrangements.

Solid silver items should be polished periodically with a specialised silver polishing cream and a soft cotton cloth to remove oxidisation, avoiding abrasive cleaners and immersion in dishwashers to protect the finish.
