The Fancy Fox has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
A smaller bird in flight and tiny distance birds sit between the two main vignettes and well painted butterflies sit either side of the handle and inside the cup well. Gilt acanthus leaf detail runs up the handle and it is finished with a gilt band around the top of the foot. Painted crescent mark to the base, c.1785.
It measures 5cm (2") high and 8cm (3 1/8") rim to rim.
In excellent condition with no damage, repair or restoration. Minimal handling wear to both enamels and gilding.
