This antique and rare porcelain duet tea set by Minton’s includes a pair of cups with saucers, a teapot, a sugar bowl, and a milk jug, created in the late 19th century. The pieces are made of bone china, enameled, and gilded. The beautiful ''Seaweed'' red pattern was introduced into Minton''s design range in the 1880s and was available in red, green, and blue until the early 1900s when the range was discontinued.Cups, saucers, and other set pieces are decorated with a seaweed design, transfer printed in rust red, with gilt rims. The cups have a bucket shape with gilding on the foot ring and squared handle. All pieces bear the company mark on the bottom, and the cups and saucers additionally have the pattern number G3160 written in red ink. Minton products are always highly desirable, either as individual pieces or as part of a set.
