-Welcome to Mersham Manor Antiques-
An exceptional and very impressive 19th century mahogany centre table, of outstanding quality.
c1870.
The very curvaceous serpentine shaped top with moulded edge has the most beautifully intricately carved heads to four of the corners, depicting medieval bearded and crowned Kings, which are partially gilded. Each head is completely individual, having much character to each face, these are over the most exquisitely carved base, which really is the star to this rare fine quality table. Also partially gilded, and having abundant profusely pierced carved scrolls and acanthus leaves to the side supports. Joined by an equally intricately pierced carved centre stretcher, with matching carved scrolled quadriform feet.
The mahogany top shows wonderful figuring and graining to the timbers, and is off good even colour and warm patina.
A completely ''Grand Entrance'' centre-piece table.
