Solid Silver Caddy with Lion Mask Handles

1900 - 1920
Description

A Silver Caddy with an ebony oval and spire topped finial knob.

Over the slightly domed hinged cover, sweeping to a bowed rim, over a lower conforming edge, tapering into the cover rim. The rim meets the rim of the main body, over outward sweeping bowed panels, falling to the flat foot, raised on fluted and scrolled feet. The sides of the caddy mounted with lion mask ring handles. The interior silver gilt.

The caddy hallmarked for Willian Aitken, Birmingham 1903.
