Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1890s.
Each shaped almost like a horse's hoof, they are engraved with a typically Victorian fern decoration leaving a vacant cartouche at the front, which of course could be personalized by your silversmith should you desire.
Made from a thick gauge of silver, they weigh a combined 74.1 Grams / 2.38 Troy Ounces. Both have good crisp hallmarks for Sheffield 1897, making these a true Victorian pair.
Measurements: 1 1/4" thick with an opening diameter of 2". The box measures 5" x 3 3/4" x 1 1/2".
