Antique Early Oak Furniture 18thc "Joyned" Deeds Cupboard. English C1740-60.

Sold by: Mark Seabrook Antiques

You don''t see very many of these collectable small cupboards....this one has come out of a Somerset Watermill and was used to keep valuable deeds and documents in, it was probably inset into the wall, so no one could walk off with the cupboard and its contents...it dates from around 1740 and has ''joyned'' peg construction, attractive carved and punchwork cornice, original handmade hinges and still retains the original drop handles....excellent colour and condition.

English. C1740-60.
