Agricultural Medal 1858

19th century
Description

A Victorian silver coloured medal presented by The Manchester & Liverpool Agricultural Society to John S Wood Clayton Vale in lieu of the prize of £4. It was for Black Strap 2nd best 2yr old gelding Sept 1858. The condition is lovely one side is beautifully decorated with a farm scene and the reverse is a wreath with the prize inscription. No marks to the medal. Made by Ottley Medallist Birmingham.
